In 2023, SEF, USA and AJEH inaugurated the Akhand Jyoti Center of Excellence (AJCoE), a brand new 500-bed hospital near the existing AJEH facility. Spread over 2,07,000 sq. ft. with a capacity for 800 eye screenings and 500 surgeries per day, the AJCoE is a world-class facility that provides high-quality, free eye care services.

Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital (AJEH) was established in Mastichak, near Patna, Bihar, in 2005. Led by its founder, Mr. Mrityunjay Tiwary, it is the largest charitable eye hospital in eastern India with outreach centers in Patna, Balia, Samastipur, and Purnea. It prioritizes the treatment of bilateral blindness (in both eyes) due to the high prevalence of this condition in the region.
