A Government Messiah

An institution as large as the Sankara Eye Hospitals cannot perform on its own. It is the whole of many many parts made up of its donors, volunteers, employees, partners, vendors, associates, grassroots workers, and most of all the government. And the government is represented by its employees who help us meet our goals. Mahesh Patidar is one of the government employees closely associated with Sankara Eye Hospital, Indore. He is an optometrist working at the Community Service Centre, Mahadaleshwar, about 90 km from Indore in Madhya Pradesh.

When You Are Down, Lift Someone Up!

Mahesh not only loves his job at the center, he even fills in for vacancies in the nearby villages when required! Quite the linguist, with 23 years of working with patients, in Mahadaleshwar, Mahesh speaks the language of the locals, thus making them open up to him easily with their issues. With an ever-smiling face, he patiently listens to all their stories and problems, efficiently conducting their eye tests while chatting merrily with them. The locals love him! And we, thank him for his contribution to screening, selecting, and sending needy patients for free eye surgeries at Sankara Eye Hospital, Indore.
