It was built with the support of the TANA Foundation, Sankara Eye Foundation, USA, and philanthropic families in Guntur and nearby areas.

SEH Guntur is currently undergoing a massive expansion to double its free surgery capacity from 30,000 to 60,000. Currently, a 300-bed facility, the new hospital, spread over an area of 86,360 sq ft. will have 600 beds, 14 surgical theaters, and 40 inpatient rooms.
