Himadri is a third-generation community leader. His grandfather, Swami Aseemji, originally established the Netaji Eye Centre in the remote village of Ramchandrapur, Purulia. He later passed the reins to his son, and ultimately, to his grandson – Himadri. Despite his busy schedule, Himadri maintains a warm and hospitable demeanor. His Bengali-accented "Nomoshkar!" greets you with genuine warmth, even when our troupe of visitors arrives late at night after several hours of delays.
Himadri is brimming with enthusiasm and ensures that every detail meets his standards. Nothing escapes his notice. A much-loved leader, he captivates you with his stories and experiences while simultaneously keeping an eye on the next item on the agenda. He personally serves food and Bengali sweets, pouring love into every gesture. He knows every employee and their family by name and is aware of their unique talents.
His stories are deeply rooted in history, as his village is known for having hosted Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose during the freedom struggle. And it's not just the hospital that he manages. He has also founded an NGO dedicated to education, established a primary school, created an ashram, constructed dams, and contributed to infrastructure development, among many other initiatives.
It's leaders like Himadri who are the foundation of Sankara's vision – the hands-on individuals who help us bring our mission to life.
